Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (or applicable standards), internal controls, and company policies.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including performance management and training.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities in partnership with finance leadership.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies through automation and best practices.
- Maintain and enhance accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- CPA designation (preferred).
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
